Jackson joins

CAMBRIDGE United have strengthend their squad ahead of the today’s transfer deadline with the loan signing of AFC Wimbledon’s Ryan Jackson.

Jackson, 21, who can play at right back or on the right of midfield, has joined the U’s until the end of the season.

Manager Jez George said: “Ryan has been on our radar for some time. He is exceptionally quick and he will give us another option in the wide areas.

“We are delighted we’ve managed to secure his services until the end of the season ahead of several other clubs.”

Having come up through the ranks at Kingsmeadow, Jackson was part of the squad that won promotion from the Blue Square Bet Premier division last season. He has enjoyed loan spells with Fleetwood and Lincoln City this season, and becomes the second Dons loanee in the United squad after team-mate Brett Johnson joined last week.
