HISTON threw away a lead for the second successive Saturday, drawing with Guiseley having been two goals to the good.

Top-scorer Dan Holman had scored twice to put the Stutes in command. First he profited from good work from the returning Matt Breeze, who is back at the Glassworld Stadium for a second loan spell, to fire a shot past Steve Drench. Then Holman was at it again, converting a cross from Lewis Taaffe to double his team’s lead.

The Stutes had earlier been indebted to keeper Jorg Stadelmann, who saved a penalty from Lee Ellington with the score at 0-0.

But he was beaten in the second half when experienced forward James Walshaw netted. And it was Walshaw who scored the equaliser, this time from the penalty spot after he had been fouled by Remy Clerima.

On Monday Histon will be back in action at Gloucester City.
