HISTON skipper Omer Riza has made a shock departure from the Glassworld Stadium after his contract was terminated by mutual consent.

Experienced striker Riza was David Livermore’s first signing at the Glassworld Stadium, and after agreeing a new deal was named club captain in the summer.

He was the team’s top scorer with 12 goals last season, but had only found the net four times in the league this season, with injuries and suspension hampering his progress.

A Histon statement released last night said: “Omer Riza has this evening left the Club by mutual consent and with immediate effect. We thank Omer for his contribution both on and off the pitch during his time here and wish him well for the future.”
