A SECOND half collapse saw Cambridge slump to defeat at Rosslyn Park.

Bob Crooks was expecting a difficult match against high-flying Park, but saw his charges surge into an early lead.

Just seven minutes were on the clock when Toby Berridge crossed the whitewash for the opening try, Elliot Bale landing the conversion.

Park were soon level thanks to a converted try from Stephen Parsons, but Bale’s penalty put Cambridge in front once more.

And when Tom Fidler scored, Bale adding the extras, the Blood and Sand had a ten point advantage.

But a penalty from Ross Laidlaw reduced the arrears, and in the second half three tries in quick succession put the home side in the driving seat.

Cambridge were unable to fight back, and two more touchdowns from the home side the scoreline a one-sided looked.

On Saturday Cambridge welcome Tynedale to Volac Park.
