Worcester City 1 - 1 Histon
HISTON secured a battling draw at Worcester last night despite playing a large part of the second half with ten men.
Kick-off at St George’s Lane was delayed by half an hour as the Stutes team bus was stuck in traffic, and when the game finally got underway the first half was a low key affair.
Dan Holman got the opening goal from the penalty spot in the second half, after a handball in the Worcester box. But 12 minutes later Jay Dowie tripped Greg Mills in the box, and the home side had a spot kick of their own. Dowie was shown a yellow card for a second bookable offence, and Tom Thornley beat Jorg Stadelmann from 12 yards.
Histon came under heavy pressure in the closing stages, but Worcester couldn’t find a way past Stadelmann. Next up for the Stutes is a home match against Droylsden on Saturday.
