A MAN with an “appalling record for violence” has been jailed for an unprovoked attack on a fellow drinker.
Moises Antivil, 40, followed the victim as he left the King Street Run public house, in King Street, Cambridge, on Friday, November 4.
He shouted at him before punching him twice, knocking him to the ground, before walking back in the pub and telling the barman ‘you’d want to go and wake him up’.
The 37-year-old victim hit his head on the kerb when he fell and has to be treated in hospital.
Antivil, of Cam Causeway, Cambridge, pleaded guilty to causing actual bodily harm at Cambridge Crown Court and was jailed for 12 months on Friday (January 27).
He was also banned from all licensed premises in King Street and Chesterton for 18 months.
He has 19 previous convictions for violence dating back to 1984.
Miss Recorder Lindsey Davies said Antivil had a “truly appalling record where violent offences are concerned”.
Detective Constable Ben Martin, who led the investigation, said: “This was an unprovoked attack on a fellow drinker who was heading home after a night out.
“The assault caused the victim to fall over and he struck his head on a kerb, knocking him out. It was sheer luck he was not more seriously injured.”
