The Ministry of Defence’s first truly deployable CT scanner has been officially handed over by Cambridge-based Marshall Land Systems.
The scanner – a Philips Brilliance 64 CT – has been integrated into a Marshall double expandable matrix shelter.
During the handover ceremony, a ribbon was jointly cut by Brigadier Jon Brittain, head of capability expeditionary logistic support, and Sir Michael Marshall, chairman and chief executive of the Marshall of Cambridge Group.
“The team has achieved remarkable things on this project,” said project manager Nick Blackmore.
“From getting the approval to delivery today of an incredibly high-tech item of equipment designed to survive the rigours of being deployed to and in an operational theatre has taken 11 months.”
