Cambridge software firm Autonomy has won an award for its outstanding financial performance.
The Hewlett Packard (HP) company has won the techMARK Achievement of the Year award, which is given to a person or company that has produced exceptional results.
Autonomy won in recognition of the high premium and valuation received when it was acquired by HP in August.
“This award not only acknowledges that Autonomy achieved a very high valuation when HP acquired it but it also highlights the importance of what we do,” said chief executive Dr Mike Lynch.
“We are at the beginning of an exciting change in the IT industry, where information will no longer have to be made to fit the computer.
“HP understood that when it made its offer and, with Autonomy’s technology, is now at the forefront of that change.”
BBC personality and awards presenter Louise Minchin said: “The voting panel was clear that this achievement was head and shoulders above the rest.”
