A new face has taken over this week as chief executive of bioinformatics consultancy Eagle Genomics at the Babraham Research Campus.
David Flanders has replaced founding chief executive Abel Ureta-Vidal, who has now become chief operating officer (COO).
“After over three years as chief executive, it is now the right time for a more experienced executive to bring the company to the next level,” said Mr Ureta-Vidal.
“I am pleased to welcome David and look forward to working with him as Eagle enters a period of rapid growth.
“In my role as COO, I shall focus on internal efficiency and front-line project delivery to ensure that Eagle’s customers continue to get the best-quality service.”
Mr Flanders has more than 25 years’ international experience in the bioinformatics and life sciences industry.
“I was immediately impressed by how professional the Eagle team is, and how dedicated they are to delivering excellent service to their customers,” he said.
“I look forward to working with them to expand into new areas and diversify their already impressive customer portfolio of major international biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies.”
Eagle chairman Alan Barrell said: “We are thrilled to have David join us at Eagle and we are confident that he will use his experience to build upon Eagle’s solid reputation and extend our services into a range of exciting new areas.”
