Atkins Gregory in Cambridge is going for a clean sweep – with a new acquisition and plans to grow its staff numbers by a quarter in the next year.
The cleaning contractor, based at the Dencora Business Centre in Nuffield Road, has acquired Cambridge Industrial & Commercial Cleaners, which trades as Spring Clean.
The move is part of the company’s ambitious growth plans which will see it increase employment of cleaning professionals across the region from the current 200 to reach 250 by 2013.
As part of the acquisition, Atkins Gregory will take on Spring Clean’s existing contracts and staff. Managing director David Williams will be retained within the business as a consultant.
“I’m delighted to be handing over the business to another successful independent cleaning company”, he said. “After 38 years with Spring Clean, I feel it’s time to follow other pursuits.”
Atkins Gregory managing director Paul Prime said: “This acquisition will take our annual turnover to over £2 million. It is a strategic move in our expansion plans and further developments are planned to allow us to continue growth in 2012 and beyond.”
