Energy monitoring technology developed by Cambridge company Alquist has been named Infastructure Innovation of the Year.
The accolade came in the UK IT Industry Awards in London, hosted by the British Computer Society and Computing magazine.
The awards were presented by comedian, actor and television presenter Alexander Armstrong in front of an audience of more than 1,000 technology professionals from across the UK.
Alquist, based at ideaSpace, says its Celsius technology could help cut millions off data centre energy bills.
The monitoring device, which uses fibre-optic cable as a high-resolution temperature sensor, is cutting data centre energy consumption by about 25 per cent.
